The Current Administration of the Office of Mayor Max
The current administration includes the following three Golden Retrievers:
Mayor Max the Third
Vice Mayor Meadow the First
Deputy Co-Mayor Mitzi (aka: Head of Security and Bodyguard for the Mayor and Vice Mayor)
Mayor Max the Third and Vice Mayor Meadow the First took office at 11 weeks old on November 22, 2022. They were born on September 5, 2022. They are the third generation of the Mayors of Idyllwild. Max and Meadow are an inseparable pair, and they perform the same mayoral tasks every day. Their primary duties are their daily meetings with the general public and attending many public and private events of every kind. They are incredible fund-raisers, and they love being with the public as much as possible. They attend hundreds of events annually primarily in Idyllwild and other SoCal locations. They are available to attend events throughout California, Arizona, and Nevada.
Together, along with the help of the Chiefs of Staff Phyllis Mueller and Glenn Warren, we run the Office of Mayor Max, a non-partisan non-political mayoral office for Idyllwild that does a tremendous amount of goodwill and good work for the community of Idyllwild and the world.
Max loves everyone unconditionally, he only does kind and loving things for people, and he does not take sides on political parties or political issues. He represents everyone equally. The Mayor visits with the public every day of the year and conducts hundreds of private visits and events annually.
Our purpose is to uplift the spirits, create as much joy as possible, and increase the long-term survival potential, well-being, and happiness of every individual with whom we come in contact. We provide a mayoral office and an educational program to enlighten individuals on how to live a happy, productive, and helpful life in challenging times and how to help make the world a better place by conveying unconditional love and doing as many good deeds for others as possible.
Our Phase One Program is to reach two billion people with our message, and the Phase Two Program is to reach the rest of the world. We believe that we the people of Earth can create peace on Earth by remaining positive in how we handle our communications and making certain that we have the discipline to create only positive effects for everyone around us. Mayor Max the Third
Maximus Mighty-Dog Mueller, III (Registered Name)
Mayor Max loves his job as the Mayor, and he knows what it means to “look at the camera” to pose for pictures. He is very good at it. He is learning to shake hands but does not yet do it on command 100% of the time. At the age of three and a half, he now can wear a cowboy hat as well when he poses for pictures.
Mayor Max the Third loves to “dress for success” and wears a tie and a personalized vest to work every day.
Max LOVES just about everything in life. To mention just a few things, he loves belly rubs, hugs, kisses, doggie treats, petting, going to the Dairy Queen, going for car rides, running, chasing and retrieving balls, snuggling, visiting with the public for any reason and in any place, and much more. He can be very calm, and when visiting patients in healthcare organizations, he knows to remain calm. In public settings, he can become very frisky at any time.
Max can be surrounded by hundreds of excited children all wanting to pet him at one time, and he is never uncomfortable or flustered by the noise or commotion of 10-20 children touching him all at once. Max can be in the middle of a crowd of hundreds of excited and noisy children and remain perfectly comfortable and serene in that setting.
Max is very gentle when taking food and never lunges aggressively or grabs or bites for food. He is discerning about food even when hungry and is never food aggressive. When food is presented, Max sniffs it first to see if he wants it. He is willing to share any food he has with others including dogs, like his sister Meadow, who might want to gobble up his food.
Max still loves to shred things, especially stuffed animals, and he loves to eat leaves, sticks, pine needles, pine cones, and any other type of wood.
Vice Mayor Meadow the First
Meadow Mighty-Dog Mueller (Registered Name)
Vice Mayor Meadow is the littermate of Mayor Max the Third, and she is an all-time barker who barks for all reasons and no reasons. Along with Mayor Max the Third, Meadow attends downtown visiting with the public and also hundreds of private parties and events every year. Unlike Mayor Max, Meadow is so excited for food that she does lunge to get a treat or snack, so we have learned to toss a treat to her rather than feed her by hand. If you do feed her by hand, you are encouraged to feed her flat-handed!
Meadow is the mischief maker of the three Mayors and is always causing some sort of trouble. If a car part is missing or something is shredded to pieces, it will be Meadow that found it and started it and finished it. Meadow has been in the hospital the most often for eating something she should not have eaten. More specifically, Vice Mayor Meadow used to wear a tie to work every day but ended up in the hospital eight times for eating her tie. So now, Meadow gets to wear a personalized vest but no tie. We still have to remain ever diligent to make sure she doesn’t eat the Mayor’s tie. So far so good on that.
As much trouble as Meadow can be, she is a very loving and endearing dog. She is a tremendous snuggler and loves attention. She will reach out to you with her paw asking you to pet her immediately. Meadow wants to be in physical contact with you at all times. By all means, pet Meadow every minute you are with her. It calms her and reduces her barking.
Deputy Co-Mayor Mitzi, Head of Security and Bodyguard for the Mayor and Vice Mayor
Mitzi Mighty-Dog Mueller (Registered Name)
Deputy Co-Mayor Mitzi is the Alpha Dog of the three Mayors of Idyllwild. She is also known as the Head of Security and bodyguard for the Mayor and Vice Mayor of Idyllwild as well as Mitzi The Frisky. She does like to bark at some visiting dogs, but she is very mild-mannered about it now as she has mellowed somewhat over the years.
Mitzi too likes to “dress for success” and always wears a Security vest when on duty.
She is the last surviving member of the second generation of Mayors of Idyllwild and will be 13 years old on May 26, 2026. We always celebrate Mitzi’s birthday on May 26 by parking at Wooley’s and giving away free cupcakes to the public that stop by for a visit that day!
Though she is partially deaf and partially blind, she still has a temendous enthusiasm for living. She will still chase and retrieve balls a few times before sitting down, she loves to come out for the downtown visiting with the public, and she is the most upbeat and enthusiastic retriever of all three Mayors. She loves food of all kinds and has a keen sense of smell to locate anything edible. Like a cow or a horse, Mitzi likes to forage through grass, sticks, and plants to eat them. Her most favorite thing in the world is a trip to the Dairy Queen. She welcomes getting a Dairy Queen gift card in the mail!
